Mr. Shigeo Katsuki, a member of our association, won the Gold Medal in the Animals & Pets category of Asia WPA “International Photography & Videography Competition 2nd Half 2024”.

Mr. Katsuki's story

I have been photographing red-crowned cranes for 20 years since I saw them for the first time and fell in love with them at first sight, thinking how beautiful, emotional, and cute they are.

Hokkaido is the only place in the world where you can see red-crowned cranes up close.

I am of course happy that my expression has been recognized, but I am most happy that it has become an opportunity to introduce the beauty of the red-crowned crane to the eyes of many people around the world who do not yet know about them, since it is displayed at the top of the list as the 1st place.
